Welcome to Cohort

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Cohort platform, operated by Cohort ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, browsing internships, or using any features of our platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using our platform on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the platform after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Account Responsibilities

When you create an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and update your account information to keep it accurate
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Be at least 16 years of age or have parental/guardian consent

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use our platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Post internship opportunities that are discriminatory, illegal, or harmful
  • Use the platform to solicit spam, scams, or fraudulent offers
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the platform or servers connected to the platform

4. Internship Listings & Verification

For Employers:

  • You must post accurate, complete information about internship opportunities
  • You must update or remove listings when positions are filled
  • Listings must comply with all applicable labor laws and regulations
  • We require weekly confirmation that listings are still active
  • We reserve the right to remove any listing that violates these Terms

5. Intellectual Property

The platform, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by Cohort and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not modify, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

By posting content to our platform, you grant us a license to use, display, and distribute such content for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform.

6. Disclaimer & Warranties

Important Disclaimers:

  • We do not endorse, guarantee, or verify any internship opportunity or employer
  • We are not responsible for the conduct or employment practices of any employer
  • Internships are provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any listing
  • Users should conduct their own research before applying to or accepting any position

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cohort shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the platform.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the platform at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.
