About Cohort
We're on a mission to make internships accessible for every California student and help small organizations find emerging talent.
Our Mission
Cohort exists to bridge the gap between talented California students and meaningful internship opportunities. We believe every student deserves access to real-world experience, regardless of their background or the size of the organization they want to work with.
Accessibility First
We focus on California's 200+ colleges and universities, making it easy for students to find local opportunities and for organizations to connect with local talent.
Quality Over Quantity
Every internship on our platform is verified and actively hiring. We update our listings weekly to ensure students only see current, real opportunities.
Community Focus
We prioritize small businesses, nonprofits, and organizations that might not have the resources to recruit at large career fairs but offer incredible learning experiences.

Our Story
Cohort was born from a simple observation: while big tech companies have no trouble finding interns, amazing small organizations and nonprofits often struggle to recruit. At the same time, students at smaller California colleges have fewer opportunities than their peers at large universities.
We built Cohort to solve both problems. By focusing exclusively on California and making it free for both students and employers, we're creating a space where meaningful connections can happen regardless of an organization's size or a student's background.
We're just getting started, but we're proud to already serve hundreds of students and dozens of organizations across the state. Together, we're building a cohort of talented, motivated individuals who are ready to learn and grow.
How We Ensure Quality
✓ Weekly Curation Process
Our inhouse curation team updates internship listings weekly to ensure every opportunity you see is actively hiring. We work directly with employers to confirm positions are still available.
If you're seeing a post on Cohort, it means the employer has confirmed within the past week that they're still looking for interns. No more applying to stale listings or filled positions.
✓ Two Types of Listings
Registered Company Posts: Employers who sign up directly can receive one-click applications from pre-screened students. Students upload their resumes once and can apply instantly to multiple opportunities.
Curated Posts: Our team hand-picks quality opportunities from across California and verifies they're actively hiring. These posts link to company application systems but have been vetted by our curation team.
💡 Why This Matters: Most job boards show listings that are months old or already filled. On Cohort, every internship is verified weekly. If you see it, they're hiring.
